At Last! Kolkata International Airport Terminal Revamps

Kolkata has something to cheer-up amidst political rifts, industrial bleakness and job insecurity amongst youths. The grand looking International Airport Terminal has been inaugurated by President of India on January 20, 2013. The airport is now competing with Mumbai and New Delhi International airports with walkalators, U-shaped check-in islands, aerobridges and plenty of sitting arrangements including a VIP lounge.

The Rs, 2, 300 crore integrated terminal has the ability to accommodate 20 million passengers a year. The terminal has been developed by the joint venture of ITD Cementation India Ltd. and Italian-Thai Development Co Ltd, Thailand.

The first International service will be a Kolkata-Delhi-New York flight , which is scheduled to take off on January 23, 2013.
